Restauratoren Nederland zet zich in voor het behartigen van de belangen van de beroepsgroep en voor de zorg voor het cultureel erfgoed in het algemeen. Zij wil de deskundigheid van haar leden bevorderen en de sector professionaliseren door o.a. een systeem van kwaliteitszorg op te zetten. Tenslotte wil Restauratoren Nederland het publieke, professionele en politieke besef over de noodzaak van de zorg voor ons culturele erfgoed vergroten.
The ICOM-Conservation Committee is the largest of the International Committees of ICOM (International Council of Museums) with over 1800 members worldwide from every branch of the museum and conservation profession. ICOM-CC aims to promote the investigation, analysis and conservation of culturally and historically significant works and to further the goals of the conservation profession. ICOM-CC is built up of specialist working groups which actively communicate with their members through newsletters, meetings and at the Triennial Congress.

A main objective of ENCoRE is to promote research and education in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
INCCA is a network of professionals connected to the conservation of modern and contemporary art. Conservators, curators, scientists, registrars, archivists, art historians and researchers are among its members. Members allow access to each others unpublished information (artist interviews, condition reports, installation instructions etc) through the INCCA Database for Artists' Archives.
De Stichting Behoud Moderne Kunst (SBMK) houdt zich sinds 1995 bezig met projecten op het gebied van het beheer en behoud van hedendaagse beeldende kunst. Doel is het ontwikkelen van 'good practice' waarvan alle belanghebbenden profijt kunnen hebben. Dit gebeurt in samenwerkingsverbanden met collectiebeheerders, conservatoren en restauratoren.
The Centre Interrégional de Conservation et Restauration du Patrimoine (C.I.C.R.P., Interregional Centre for Heritage Conservation and Restoration) in Marseilles, fulfils a public service mission by contributing to the knowledge, preservation and restoration of cultural property. This mission is carried out in the form of scientific and technical consulting and assistance provided to the managers of public collections and to municipalities.
